UNSC's Presentation Letter

Ladies and gentlemen, I, Pedro Haluch, would like to welcome you to the Third Mundo CM, and most especially to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC)! This is a brief post to show you why you should choose the UNSC over the other committees.

First of all the all-mighty extra-beautiful/handsome chair is composed by me, currently majoring in Physics, and also known for some as magician or dancer (depends on the time of the day[or night]); The black-powered Carlos Henrique, who can make your soul freeze solid with just a look (he has the heads of the delegates that dared call him Caíque in the past on his living room’s shelf); The hollywoodly-blue eyed and blonde Guilherme Siqueira, who makes hearts skip beats all over town. Both of them are currently undergraduate Law students; and last but definitely not least, our most astonishing and perhaps (only perhaps) less cruel director Kátia Ogliari, currently in Medical school.

Being done with the chair members, let’s talk about the subject. As most UNSC subjects, it deals with interesting, dynamic and addicting themes. The Situation in Western-Sahara is, even if not-so-broadcasted by the media, one of the oldest issues the Security Council still deals with. You will have the chance to see what has and hasn’t been done, and be part of discussions of the highest level, because the UNSC delegates usually are the mini-cherry on top of the regular cherry on top of the sundae of awesomeness that a model UN is.

Finally regarding the UNSC itself: you will have the chance to be on the smallest committee of Mundo CM. One might ask why is that good; That’s great because with less delegations the discussions flow quicker, adding dynamism to the topic. You also won’t have to struggle to be heard, because as there are only 15 delegations you will have plenty of time in each session to express you point of view. The UNSC is definitely one of the most comfortable committees to be in.

Oh, and did I mention it’s the only committee with mandatory powers? Oh yes. The other committees ask for things to happen, we order them to happen.

So that’s it: from our most refined blend of directors all the way to the best model experience, I sincerely hope you decide to come to the UNSC. We’ll try to be nice. But don’t count on that.
